4 Things You Probably Don't Know About IUDs







The intrauterine device or IUD is one of the most effective reversible contraceptives offered to women.  



The IUD, which has been gaining popularity over the past five years, is a tiny device inserted into the uterus. It's 99.9 percent effective over a 10-year period, according to OB-GYN Dr. Laura Macisaac. 



“It really is equal to when women tie their tubes," Macisaac says in the video above.
