Tom Brady was in top form yet again as he blew out the Miami Dolphins in signature style. Love him or hate him, it's hard to frown on the stats that he's putting up - even if you are a Fins fan.
With 356 yards and four TDs, Tom Brady was out to show the world that he isn't slowing down any time soon. A resounding 36-7 blow-out victory put the Pats at 7-0 and leading the top-four of NFL teams in the Power Rankings this year.
During this endeavor, Stephen Gostkowski would top Adam Vinatieri's franchise record, when he made a 52, 36 and 26 yarder in a row. Meanwhile, Rob Gronkowski would earn 113 yards and a TD, and Dion Lewis would gain 19 yards and a TD.
Dan Campbell, the interim coach for Miami, is now sitting on a 3-4 team, following Joe Philbin's canning. While they had good showings against the Titans and the Texas in prior games, they were certainly no match for the Pats.
"You have to play good football in all three phases when you play the New England Patriots. They've always been that way," Campbell said.
It's just the second time that the Pats have started a season with seven consecutive wins. Last time, they went 18-0, back in 2007, before losing to the Giants in the Super Bowl.
Ryan Tannehill wasn't able to get anything going on this night, throwing for two picks and no TDs.
But Brady set yet another NFL record: 19 games with four TDs and no interceptions.
As it stands now, the Pats sit atop the AFC East at 7-0, with a 4-3 Jets trailing badly behind them.
The Bengals are atop the ACF North at 7-0 (who would have thought). Indy leads the AFC South with a pathetic 3-4 record, and one loss to the Pats. And Denver leads the West at 7-0, after dismantling the Packers and handing them their first loss of the year.
If things play out right, we could see Denver and New England in the AFC Championship game this year to determine who goes to the Big Dance.
Given their ages, Peyton at 39 and Brady at 38, it could be a big, last hurrah for two of the game's greatest to ever be under center.
